A server can now be locked with a 2FA code. Switch the lock on in the server's settings, in the 2FA lock tab: use your account's authenticator, or a separate authenticator only for this server (you then get 10 recovery codes, shown once). A locked server cannot be managed until you enter a code from your authenticator. Unlock it for 15 minutes, 1, 4 or 24 hours – when the time is up, the server locks itself again. Only the browser session in which you entered the code is unlocked.

API keys, the VPSnet MCP server and the AI assistant cannot manage a locked server at all, even while it is unlocked. Renewing, paying and switching automatic renewal on or off always work. Lost your authenticator? Contact support – they can remove the 2FA lock.
